Thanks to our volunteers!!!!

We asked for help.  You responded.

And we are thrilled .. and thankful!

CVOA is always trying to cram a wide array of outdoor adventures into our calendars .. opportunities for our members to ski, hike, bike, canoe, camp, fish and explore all the wonderful places we go each year.

But those outings take work. Lots of work .. planning, organizing, housing, feeding, energizing.

We've been lucky: The club has attracted a solid group of dedicated folks generous enough with their time and talent to make this work.

This year, we reached out and asked other members to get involved. And they did:

* Sandy Osterreider and Elise Gephardt have volunteered to head up this year's full moon snowshoe and cross country ski trek at the touring center Feb. 11. The evening features nordic skiing and snowshoeing along the moonlit trails to a warming hut for snacks and drinks, steaming pots of stew and awesome desserts back at the lodge, a bonfire and skating.

Upcoming Adventures!

A New Adventure: The 100-Mile Wilderness

We’ll be heading back to the Great North Woods next fall for a fishing/foliage/hiking/canoeing weekend smack in the middle of the 100 Mile Wilderness.

We’ve made arrangements with Nahmakanta Camps for the weekend of September 21-23 .. but there are a limited number of cabins so we need to know ASAP if you think you might want to join us. We won’t be making a deposit until April 1 .. but Nahmakanta is only going to hold all its nine cabins for us until January 1. So we need to let them know if we’ll be taking over the entire sporting camp!

Nahmakanta is located about halfway between Greenville and Millinocket. For more information, check out the web site at: www.nahmakanta.com.

The cabins are lakefront, sleep 2-8 and all have full kitchens. None have electricity although some have modern composting toilets .. think Maine Huts & Trails .. and hot showers. Cell coverage is limited but cell and laptop batteries can be charged in the office.

The five larger cabins have indoor toilets and modern bath houses nearby. The four smaller cabins have no indoor toilets .. but modern shower/bath houses directly behind them. Each of the larger cabins has a couple of bedrooms .. so find some friends you want to lodge with and we’ll get you in together.

Like Maynards in Moosehead, Nahmakanta offers its guests a dining package. The American Plan includes a full hot breakfast, a bagged lunch and dinner for $140 per person per night. There is also a modified plan that includes just dinner ($110 per person per night) and the housekeeping plan for $80 per person per night. Guests choosing that option prepare their own meals.

The rates include canoes and kayaks for use on Nahmakanta Lake and row boats and canoes at all the back-country fishing lakes.

The sporting camps are located just one half-mile from the trailhead to the AT, which offers spectacular hiking through the 100-Mile Wilderness. There are also hiking trails around the lake at the camp as well as trails leading up the 1000-foot summit of Nesuntabunt Mountain, which overlooks the lake. Nahmakanta also offers moose tours and guided fishing trips.

So . if you think you want to come along, please let your adventure coordinators Nancy (nperry24420@roadrunner.com) or Linda (ltruew@yahoo.com) know right away.

It’s going to be a great adventure!

After Action News…

HOMECOMING HAPPENINGS ...

From hikes to bike rides, sharp-shooting demonstrations to socializing .. Sugarloaf's annual homecoming weekend gave CVOA an opportunity to showcase its stuff.

A beautiful weekend with unseasonable warm weather made for one of the best homecoming weekends in years.

CVOA colorful booth at the base lodge drew a steady stream of old-timers and newcomers alike .. to renew memberships, join the group, buy our fabulous photo calendars or just catch up with old friends.

This year's booth was organized by Peggy Bickford, who was on hand two days running to answer questions, sell merchandise and renew memberships.

The weekend was kicked off by a morning appearance on WSKI by CVOA President Chris Rushton and past president Pete Weston, who filled in views on the club and its past and future adventures.

Sunday, a trap shoot, sharp-shooting demonstration and BBQ drew a record crowd while, elsewhere in the valley, two dozen CVOAers hiked up past Poplar Falls to the Maine Huts and Trail Hut for a seasonal cookout and great weather. CVOA Secretary Sandy Jamison led the trek up to the hut, a first-time visit for some in the group.

Monday was biking day: An 11-mile trek from Kingfield to the wire bridge organized by Chris & Steph Rushton. The ride was capped with a lunch on the Rushton's riverside porch featuring cheeseburger soup (better than The Bags!) breads and pies.

A great time was had by all!!!

Team Zespy ‘ignites’ a warm CVOA welcome

at annual Homecoming Range event

CVOA goes YouTube!

CVOA Member Cliff George put together the attached You Tube coverage of the program we had at the range Sunday. It’s a terrific job – Thank you Cliff!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0z-PP3lqF4

From the opening fireball of an explosive round hitting a flammable target, the shotgun-toting antics of Team Zespy kept an audience of over a hundred at rapt attention during their performance at the Carrabassett Valley Outdoor Association’s annual range homecoming event Sunday (Oct. 9).

Jerome Holt of Bethel and Colin Micklon of Fryeburg fired their way through hundreds of shells and clays for over an hour, eliciting dozens of rounds of applause from the large crowd enjoying the show and a sun-drenched view of the foliage of Bigelow Mountain in the background.

“In all my days on ranges, I’ve never seen anything like it in my life,” remarked long-time shooter and CVOA Range Chairman Neal Trask. “They did things with firearms that I would have never believed possible.”

The Team Zespy duo, hand-throwing as many as eight clays at a time into the sky, would methodically bring them down in pieces, sometimes firing shotguns upside-down or throwing guns back and forth to each other before firing.

Holt and Micklon themselves, and members of the audience, would challenge the two shooters to try new tricks, like throwing a shotgun back and forth twice, loading it and firing before the clay could hit the ground. They tried it and succeeded.

The two shooters will be featured in a Bill Green’s Maine segment on WCSH-TV at 7 p.m. Oct. 29.

Their performance was all part of a day-long range event coordinated by Range Secretary John McCatherin that opened with a three-hour session of trap shooting. Dozens of shooters went through about 1,200 rounds during the morning session under the watchful eyes of Range Officers Sherie Packard and Jim Heichel.

“I think we made a lot of new friends today,” McCatherin said. “We picked up a number of new members and many of the trap shooters said they’d be back to shoot here again.”

Then the shooters, guests and workers lined up for a CVOA-barbecue of chicken, burgers and hot dogs along with volunteer-provided salads, side dishes and desserts, a feed coordinated by Barbara Kovach. As he has done before, former chef Jim Wilson presided at the grills.

Another major feature of the day was the dedication of two new projects developed by Eagle Scout candidates of the CVOA-sponsored Boy Scout Troop #525.

Ian Wilson of Carrabassett Valley conceived, designed and, with fellow volunteers, built an archery range that includes a static range and a hundred yards or so of woods trails with targets tucked into the woods like a hunter would encounter.

Matt Beauregard’s project was a 10 x 20 foot canopy mounted on utility poles covering the firing line of CVOA’s hundred-yard long rifle range. Matt’s project also included the four new shooting tables built with hemlock and pressure-treated woods that will withstand the ravages of the weather at the range.

Also available for view was the nearly-finished meeting and storage building designed and built by CVOA members. In fact, the lumber was donated by Treasurer Peter Weston who milled it from trees he cut on his own property in Scarborough.

The project was supervised by long-time builder and CVOA member Harvey Packard and a crew of mostly-retired member/volunteers. After one day recently when volunteers finished staining the building and installing the metal roof, Packard, the youngest of the crew at 70, remarked that the ages of the five-man crew that day totaled about 360 years.

“If that building survives as long as we all have,” Packard joked, “then we ought to get our money’s worth.”

“What’s that noise?”

A foreign exchange student from Austria, visiting the range during its Homecoming trap shoot, decided it was time to call home.

Her mother, hearing the cacophony of shotguns, asked what was going on.

The student wasn’t sure how to explain trap shooting and handed the cell phone to her host mother, who replied:

“Nothing serious, dear, just a small skirmish.”

CVOA’s Annual Bar Harbor and Acadia Trip

The weather curse that has dampened CVOA’s autumn trip to Bar Harbor finally lifted this year, rewarding the outdoor club with three dry days, warming sun and near-peak foliage.

CVOA bumped back its annual outing by one week and moved its “base camp” to the Cromwell Harbor Motel. And it’s bad luck ended.

“YES!” said Bill Haefele, a summer resident on the island who was able to join the CVOA gang for hiking and biking activities this year because his summer job had ended.

Close to 30 enthusiastic members of the club spent three days biking the Park Loop Road, the Carriage Roads, and Schoodic Peninsula and hiking the mountains and walking trails of Acadia National Park. They were rewarded with fabulous views and bright orange and yellow foliage fall weather as they traipsed and pedaled around miles and miles of federal park lane.

“I can’t think of a more pleasant group of people to hike with,” said John Morey, a new CVOA member who joined the crew for a Saturday hike over Sargent and Penobscot Mountains and Sargent Pond.

“A great ride,” said Diane Sturzenberger of Augusta, who joined a different group biking the Eagle Lake loop and the carriage roads around Jordan Pond House.

The weekend also offered opportunities for less rigorous activities .. tea and popovers at Jordan Pond House, dining and shopping in downtown Bar Harbor and sightseeing.

Saturday night was the traditional pot luck dinner on the grounds of the Cromwell House featuring a variety of hot soups, hot and cold appetizers and a wide array of desserts. The festive mood was heightened by a full-scale Halloween display just across the street.

CVOA has decided to stick with a good thing and revisit the island in late October next year. In addition, a May get-out-of-the-mud trip has been planned.

Mary Elizabeth (Beth) Van Alstine

Mary Beth (Hayden) Van Alstine, age 67, died at her home in Camden, Maine surrounded by family on Saturday, October 8, 2011 following a long struggle with ovarian cancer.

Mary Beth was born July 7, 1944 in Bennington, Vermont and was the daughter of the late Harry and Nellie (Robertson) Hayden.  She attended grade school in the “one-room” schools of Sunderland, Vermont and was active in Girl Scouts and 4-H. She graduated from Bennington Catholic High School in the Class of 1962 and was active in the chorus and drama clubs. She attended Castleton State College and the University of Vermont majoring in Social Work.

Mary Beth and husband, Peter, moved to Maine in 1967, first moving to Cape Elizabeth and then to Camden in 1972. Outdoor sports were a significant part of her family life, including sailing (member of Camden Yacht Club), skiing (member of Ragged Mountain Ski Club & Sugarloaf Ski Club), and golf (member of Megunticook Golf Club). Over the last twelve years her primary passion was spending time with her two grandchildren both in Camden and at her home at Sugarloaf – “Big Camp”.

She was a ball of fire and loved life, especially the family aspects.   She was very close to her four brothers and sister, devoted to her husband and two sons, and had a very special relationship with her two grandchildren, Hannah and Hayden Van Alstine, who knew her as “Grandma Happy”.

Mary Beth is survived by her husband of 45 years, Peter Craig Van Alstine, two children Peter Curtis Van Alstine (Christine) of Yarmouth, Maine and James Daniel Van Alstine (Jill) of Leeds, England, two grandchildren and her yellow Labrador retriever, Truly Scrumptious. She is survived by one sister, Kathy Maddaloni (Rich) of Arlington, VT and four brothers: William Hayden (Dorothy) of Montpelier, VT; James Hayden (Avis) of Sunderland, VT; John Hayden (Karleen) of East  Greenbush, NY; Michael Hayden (Alison) of Lyndeborough, NH and many nieces and nephews.

A mass will be offered at noon on Friday, October 14, 2011 at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church on 7 Union Street in Camden. Mary Beth enjoyed Autumn’s foliage colors, thus orange, yellow, and other autumn colors are encouraged for attire.  A reception will follow at the Camden Yacht Club. Carrabassett Valley Outdoor Association

to host free ‘First Shots’ firearms seminars

When it comes to learning about shooting and firearms ownership, not knowing how or where to start can be an intimidating hurdle for newcomers.

The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) is partnering with the Carrabassett Valley Outdoor Association (CVOA) to offer regional residents an introduction to the safe, recreational use of handguns, rifles and shotguns. Through a program called First Shots, first-time shooters can attend free half-day sessions composed of classroom and range time.

The First Shots programs will be held starting at 9 a.m. on both August 6 and September 10 at the CVOA range at 4068 Carrabassett Drive, about 1.7 miles north of the Sugarloaf access road on Rt. 27. Pre-registration is required by contacting Range Chairman Neal Trask at 207-235-2732 or at nltrask@tdstelme.net.

It’s believed to be the first time the program has been conducted in Maine.

“First Shots is a great opportunity for the public to learn from professionals exactly what gun ownership and the shooting sports are all about. It’s a great opportunity to give shooting a try,” according to Trask.

First Shots events provide the public with a chance to learn the rules and requirements of handgun ownership along with comprehensive information on safety, shooting sports opportunities, individual and group training and range access.

“This program will give newcomers a chance to learn in a safe environment with qualified instructors,” Trask explained.

NSSF, founded in 1961, is the trade association for the firearms and recreational shooting sports industry and promotes the safe ownership and responsible use of products its members make and sell. For more information, visit www.nssf.org.

CVOA began 11 years ago and today has some 600 members. It promotes and encourages the development of outdoor activities and the proper use and protection of our natural resources. Its shooting range on Rt. 27 features trap, rifle and pistol ranges and an archery range is currently under construction and will be in operation later this season.

CVOA Scouts ‘busy summer’

has more to come

For the outdoor-oriented boys of Sugarloaf Area Scout Troop #525, sponsored by CVOA, this has been a busy summer. And it’s far from over yet.

Several of the scouts just returned from a week at the Pine Tree District’s Camp Hines on Panther Pond in Raymond. There they racked up merit badges in lifesaving, sailing, pioneering, orienteering and shotgun shooting.

And one of them, Rollie Zagnoli, even captured the camp’s weekly triathalon.

Prior to Camp Hines, members of the troop had already been hard at work on their merit badges, achieving badges in climbing, citizenship in the world and fingerprinting.

Two members of the troop have spent part of their summer on their Eagle Scout projects. Ian Wilson and Matt Beauregard have already achieved Scouting’s second highest rank, Life.

Wilson has been designing and clearing areas for a CVOA archery range which will feature both a static target range and a walking route with five simulated animal target areas.

Beauregard is working on a canopy for the firing line at the CVOA rifle range to protect shooters from inclement weather.

In addition most of the troop took part in a camp–out at Round Barn in the Bigelow Preserve. There was plenty of activity, including swimming and sailing.

This month the troop will once again operate the food booth at the annual Carrabassett Valley Festival scheduled for August 13.

And perhaps the biggest adventure of the season – a week-long canoe trip in Canada led by CVOA Coach Doug Williams – is on tap for the latter part of August.

According to Troop #525 Scoutmaster Ragan Beauregard, “Growing up in northern Franklin County, our boys have always had a keen interest in the outdoors and outdoor activities. The scout troop has been the perfect vehicle for them to exercise and perfect those interests. There’s no better part of the world for that to happen than right here.”

The troop currently has 12 members, representing Kingfield, Stratton and Carrabassett Valley. Anyone interested in joining the troop should contact Ragan Beauregard at 246-2053 or by e-mailing her at rbeauregard@gocva.com.

Attention Range Members – CVOA Range Trap Shoots cut back for summer months

The trap shooting schedule at the CVOA range is being modified through September to reflect the lower use the range has experienced during the summer months the last couple of years. Effective immediately, the trap shoots will not take place every week but will occur on a scheduled basis.

The next shoot is scheduled for July 24, and will be held every other week through September. The other dates are August 7, August 21, September 4, September 18 and October 2. The shoots will continue to be run from 9 a.m. to noon.

CVOA is heading back to Trout Brook July 30-Aug. 1 for its annual weekend in Baxter State Park.

By popular demand, we've reserved the spacious group tent site on the banks of Mattagammon Lake for the second year in a row.

There are still sites available so .. if you have not already reserved a tent space .. please do so ASAP so you can join the fun for this wonderful weekend of hiking, canoeing, fishing and socializing. To RSVP .. write to Rick (rickchen64@yahoo.com) or Nancy (nperry24420@roadrunner.com).

We'll be arriving Friday afternoon and setting up camp. This year we'll be offering a Substantial Salads night on Friday, featuring Rick Chenard's famous lobster salad, a chicken salad platter, antipasto and a fruit salad. Please bring an appetizer, some good bread or rolls, a dessert or another main dish to share with the group.

We'll have paper plates and plastic silverware on hand but .. if you have re-usable camp utensils .. please bring them to conserve resources.

Saturday night, CVOA will host it's traditional Chicken BBQ with boneless chicken, corn on the cob, salad and dessert. The cost of the meal is included in the $20 camping fee.

Campers should bring their own breakfast and lunch food and beverages, including plenty of water.

Nearby hiking trails include the Travelers, Black Cat, Horse Mountain, Five Ponds and others. There's canoeing on the lake.

There are no organized hikes or canoe outings planned .. but find a friend over dinner or happy hour Friday night and make some plans.

We'll be back in touch later with details of the outing and a gate pass.

Please have a check made out to CVOA to give to Pete Weston, our treasurer... or, better yet .. mail it to him now!

BAR HARBOR ADVENTURE .. Date, Location Changed!!!!!!

CVOA will be heading back to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park this October but .. for the first time in many years .. we will not be headquartered at the Cadillac Motor Inn.

The Cadillac has gone out of business. BUT .. we've made arrangements with a new motel just down the block and the outing will go on!

This year, we'll be staying at the Cromwell Harbor House (http://www.cromwellharbor.com), which is offering us reduced off-season rates for the weekend of Oct. 21-23.

Although we usually go to Bar Harbor one week earlier, we decided that the lower rates .. and the one-week break between the outing and Homecoming .. held some appeal.

Cromwell will allow us the use of a grassy backyard for our Saturday pot luck dinner and pit party.

The property is across the street from The Cadillac, at the other end of the park, about one block further from town .. but still very convenient.

Anyone interested in joining CVOA for the Acadia getaway should make reservations direct with the Cromwell Harbor House (1-800-544-3201).

REMEMBER: Mention CVOA when you are making the reservation. There are no block of rooms set aside .. so book early. Right now, all 28 of the 29 rooms are vacant.

Each of the rooms has a small refrigerator, microwave and coffee mate.

There are either 2 queen beds or one king-sized bed. One room has a full kitchen. A second has a queen bed and 2 twins.

If there are more than 2 individuals to a room, there will be an additional charge of $10 per person.

Our hostess, Joy, at the Cromwell Harbor House suggests making reservations early as the motel fills up fast.

Rates are:

* Seven rooms on the first floor with 2 queen beds: $78 plus tax.

* Eight rooms in the first floor in the newer section of the motel with

2 queen beds: $88 plus tax.

* Five rooms with a king bed on the second floor: $78 plus tax.

* Eight rooms on the second floor with a king bed in the newer section of the motel: $88 plus tax.

* One handicapped accessible room with king bed and accessible shower on the first floor: $88 plus tax.

* One family room with a queen bed and 2 twins: $88 plus tax.

* And one room on the second floor with a king bed and full kitchen: $88.

Please specify which room you want when booking.

The Cromwell will charge your credit card for one night when you reserve. You must cancel at least SEVEN days prior to the outing to get back your deposit. If you cancel in less than seven days, you will lose your deposit and pay a $20 cancellation fee .. unless the Cromwell can rent your room (or you can find someone to take it). You will still pay the fee .. but get back your deposit.

Please let Nancy (nperry24420@roadrunner.com) or Linda (ltruew@yahoo.com) know if you'll be attending so we will put you on our mailing list.

After Action News…

Downeast Adventure

How many ways can you say “Wow?”

Almost three dozen members of CVOA attending a weekend outing in Lubec practiced their superlatives as they described adventures ranging from a hike along the rugged Bold Coast, bike rides on Campobello Island and the hospitality of our hosts at the Eastland Motel.

“OMG. Times two,” said Linda Trueworthy, gazing over a craggy cliff on the Bold Coast hike in Cutler.

CVOA members rolled into Lubec Friday afternoon .. in cars and trucks, on motorcycles and peddling bicycles .. for the 3-day outing. The group took over the Eastland Motel, arranging the traditional “circle of chairs” and fire pit in the backyard, setting up a BBQ grill and picnic area and staking out a “breakfast nook” and “internet café” in the motel’s corridors.

After dinner at various restaurants in town and across the bridge in New Brunswick, the crew awoke to steady rain Saturday. Although it continued throughout the day, a majority of the group crossed the bridge into Canada, specifically Campobello, a park and summer home of President Franklin Roosevelt.

Members of the group toured the Roosevelt “cottage” and other family cottages in the well-landscaped acreage. There were stops at a bakery, a campground, an oceanfront park and .. a highlight .. the East Quoddy Lighthouse.

Visiting the famous beacon requires crossing a steep, slippery area at low tide .. before the incoming tides flood the area with as much as five feet of water in an hour.

There were also hikes along bog paths and Oceanside cliffs .. as well as sightings of seal, osprey, ducks, a whale and other wildlife.

Back in the USA, CVOA members biked, toured downtown Lubec and visited Quoddy Head, where the sun rises first six months of the year.

Saturday night, CVOA chefs served up hot dogs and hamburgers with an array of salads and desserts, including hot fudge sundaes.

Sunday, 13 members of the group drove to Cutler and hiked the majestic Bold Coast, a rugged 6 or 10-mile loop through thick woods, over planks and roots and along a rocky coast and jagged cliffs offering magnificent views of the ocean and the islands beyond.

“How many ways can you say wow?” asked Peggy Bickford.

CVOA hiked the Bold Coast four years ago but this time those attending seemed determined to cover more territory. And they did.

But it was still not enough: The group voted unanimously to return next year to the Eastland to explore the hiking and biking trails, golf courses and other points of interest they missed this year.

Hit Us With Your Best Shots

Time to clear out the cameras of all those accumulating CVOA photos from our great adventures over the past year .. and send us your best shots for our 2012 calendar.

Deb Bowker, Director of Recreation, Town of Carrabassett Valley, Cell- 491-0685

Hello,

CR NEMBA - Members and Friends -

Thanks to dedicated members and volunteers we have been able to improve over 7 miles of existing trail in Carrabassett in the past two weeks! There's nothing more fun than spending time in the woods with your friends, working on the trails you love (except maybe riding with your friends on the trails you love!!).

Update:

Bigelow Preserve With the permission of the Bureau of Parks and Land, over a dozen members worked to clear blow downs, and cut back brush on a section of the Stratton Brook trail from the beaver dam to where it meets the Houston Brook Rd. Maine Huts and Trails sent one of their trail builders and skilled chain saw man, Darren to help with the blow downs (thanks MH&T) see attached photos. The group also hauled lumber out to a couple of sites where old bridges need to be replaced. A group lead by Glenn Morrell, will be building those bridges this week. We have now cleared this trail from the end to end ( Stony Brook Rd. to the Houston Brook Rd). It has never looked better! I can hardly wait to see Glenn's bridges (icing on the cake).

Maine Huts and Trails - Staff and volunteers at MH&T continue to work on the "sticky trail" to get it in the best shape possible for the Carrabassett Backcountry Cycle Challenge. They plan to extend some bridge sections and work through a couple of the rock gardens to make the trail ride even better.

Calendar:

Saturday, July 16th - Meet at the Outdoor Center at 9:00 AM and plan to work until 4:00 PM. We will be sprucing up trail sections that will be used for the Carrabassett Backcountry Cycle Challenge the following weekend. Please come out to help us get ready for the big event.

Things to bring with you:

  • Gloves, water, lunch, bug repellant;
  • Weed whacker will be the tool of the day so if you have one please bring it with you (extra line, gas, long pants, gloves and eye protection too). We also need Wheelbarrows. If you don't have a weed whacker or wheel barrow we have a lot of other stuff to do, so come along and we'll provide the tools you need;
  • Watch the weather and dress appropriately;
  • Bike and gear for those who want to ride after each work day.

Please let us know if you plan to join us by emailing our secretary Kimberly at Truskowskiloaflady@tdstelme.net

Sunday, July 24th - Carrabassett Back Country Cycle Challenge - see info at the bottom of the news letter

Saturday and Sunday, August 13 and 14 - Outdoor Center We will be working at the Outdoor Center CREATING NEW SINGLE TRACK. Meeting both days at the Outdoor Center at 9:00 AM and plan to work 5 hours. The corridor has been cut (thanks Sugarloaf) and Hardy Avery has laid out all of the pin flags to mark the trails tread so we are ready to finish this project up. Each day will include a 1 hour field clinic on trail tread building followed by 4 - 5 hours of making it happen. Saturday will include a BBQ at the warming hut with Geary's liquid refreshment (thank you Geary's Brewing Company!)

Group Rides - There are regular organized rides every week!

Check our Facebook page for details and last minute changes http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Carrabassett-Region-Nemba/123028401076252. Take advantage of these rides, meet new people and learn new places to ride.

Registration for the 50 mile course closes July 20th. Registration for the shorter option (25 +/- miles) will remain open to race day.

To be added to the volunteer list please email Deb Bowker at DBOWKER3@roadrunner.com

Important info for racers
