CVOA-sponsored Eagle Scout Candidates plan range projects

By John McCatherin

Two CVOA members who are members of Boy Scout Troop #525 will be working on projects at the CVOA Range to help obtain scouting’s highest rank of Eagle.

Matt Beauregard and Ian Wilson are both Life Scout members and are well on their way towards their Eagle rank.  Both must undertake community projects as one of the requirements.

Beauregard, whose brothers Christian and Patrick are already Eagles, will build a shelter for the rifle range firing line somewhat similar to the one constructed a couple of years ago at the pistol range.  That one, by the way, was built by Christian for his Eagle project.

Ian will be constructing an archery range, a new feature for CVOA range facilities.  It will include several fixed target areas and another half dozen or more walking route targets, simulating birds and animals that archers might encounter while hunting in area woods.

Both projects will be underway in the coming weeks.

Boy Scout Troop #525 is sponsored by CVOA.
