SKI & STEW 2012: SUCCESS!!!!
By Sandy Osterreider
CVOA's Annual Moonlight Ski & Snowshoe
event at the Outdoor Center on February 11th
was a great success with more
than 40 members participating.
Sandy Jamison led the skiers and Bonnie
Farrar led the snowshoers and they all met at the Warming Hut. Once there, they shared appetizers and sipped
on a special beverage prepared by one of the participants. Meanwhile, back at the lodge, others had
their own “Happy Hour” waiting for the arrival of the trekkers to return for a
pot luck dinner.
Awaiting was a large array of many original,
unique and delicious soups, stews and chowders. We had a choice of two different types of chili made with either
Rangeley or Sugarloaf moose, cream of fiddlehead soup and ginger carrot soup to
name a few. Also offered were breads,
rolls and wonderful desserts. More than
enough!
Once we were sufficiently full we
cleaned up the dishes, declared it a wonderful evening and said “looking
forward to doing this again next year” and headed home. |
