FLY FISHING LESSONS OFFERED

Here's your chance to learn a new skill from a pro... or improve your cast

Joe Loughran, CVOA member and FFF Certified Fly Casting Instructor, has offered to share his expertise during the CVOA adventure weekend in Moosehead July 9-11.

Joe will offer a clinic for beginners from 8 to 9:30 am Saturday, July 10, at Maynard's camps, where most if the CVOA folks attending the Moosehead weekend will be staying.

There will be a second clinic from 10 to 11:30 am for experienced fishers looking to improve.

There is no charge for the lessons. In the past, Joe has suggested a $10 donation to CVOA. Thanks Joe: For the lessons and the plug!

Classes are limited to five persons each session so .. if you're interested ... you need to let Joe know as soon as possible. You can reach him at: castit@maine.rr.com or 839-3484.

Joe will supply five fly rod outfits… or you can bring your own. He'll test it to make sure it's balanced and castable.

Saturday night, Joe's students will have a chance to practice their new skills streamside if there's a suitable spot on the Moose River near Maynard's. Waders are not necessary but you will need a 2010 Maine fishing license.

Joe is also looking for a volunteer to video the casting lessons. He has a digital video camera but ... since he'll be teaching ... needs someone to operate it.

If you haven't already signed up for the Moosehead trip, there's still time. Although the cabins at Maynard's are full, there is plenty of room to pitch a tent on the Moose River and join us for meals and a real good time. Cost to campers is $45 per person per night and includes three great meals a day.

There are also other indoor accommodations available within a mile of Maynard's.

If you'd like to attend the outing, please let Nancy Perry know at: nperry24420@roadrunner.com
